We are seeking to hire a new Scientific Editor for The American Journal of Human Genetics (AJHG). AJHG is a leading international genetics journal and is the monthly publication of the American Society of Human Genetics. As a Scientific Editor of the journal, you will be working closely with the other members of the AJHG editorial team in overseeing the peer-review process and managing the editorial direction of the journal.
This is an exciting and challenging role, and you will need a PhD in a relevant discipline. Good written and oral communication skills are essential because the role involves constant interaction with authors and reviewers as well as with members of the editorial and publishing business. Previous editorial experience is helpful, but not necessary.

Frequent contacts with scientists as authors and reviewers, and as colleagues at meetings, contributes to the building of strong networks within the scientific community.
